Linzhou City (the former Linxian County) is worldfamous for the Red Flag Canal. Located at the juncture ot Henan. Shanxi and Hebei Provinces. Since the founding ot the People's Republic of China, especially during the 20 years of reform and openup, historical changes have taken place in Linzhou's economics and social development. By the year of 1998,it be came one of the advanced cities (counties) for comprehensive economic development and one of the 18 trial cities (counties) for comprehensive reform of Henan Province. It successively won the title of National Cultural Model City. National Science and Technology Advanced City, National Sanitary City, National One hundred Advanced Cities for Afforestation and was defined as National Spark Technology Intensive Zone. National Sustainable Development Experimental Zone and A model Zone for the cooperation of the central and western part of China. In June 1996, President Jiang Zemin inspected Linzhou and made an inscription "displaying the Red Flag Canal Spirit ot selfreliance and arduous pioneering ".
Linzhou is tavorably positioned and has convenient transportation. The favorable environment provides ita broad prospect. It connects with Jingguang.
